Higgins Beach is a small coastal community eight miles south of Portland, located between the towns of Old Orchard and Cape Elizabeth.  From its one half mile of white granite sand beach, you have a panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean.  Higgins Beach is bordered to the west by a scenic rockbound coastline and intermittent beaches, and to the east by the tidal Spurwink River, with pastoral coastline extending out toward Ram and Richmond Islands off Cape Elizabeth. 

Higgins Beach and Old Orchard Beach offers excellent summer beach vacation opportunities where you can enjoy boating, fishing, kayaking, surfing and swimming as well as the simple pleasures of sunbathing, leisurely walks along the beach or collecting shells.
